Volunteer positions
Volunteer drivers.

What you’ll do:
  • Transport animals to other wildlife rehabilitators in Ontario – up to a 2 hour radius from the City of Peterborough, Ontario

  • Transport rehabilitated animals to the area where they will be released

NOTE: No handling of animals is permitted during transportation, for your safety and theirs.

Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or older

  • Full Ontario G license and access to a vehicle

  • Strong English comprehension

  • A cell phone and access to a map of Southern Ontario

  • Have attended an information session with a Kawartha Wildlife representative

  • Up-to-date tetanus vaccination

  • Non-profit volunteer experience is an asset

Time commitment:

There are no set hours for this volunteer position as drivers operate based on their availability. Names are placed on a contact list and emails are sent out when there is a wild animal in need. You only need to respond if you are available to pick up and drive the animal to its destination.
